Founded in 1542, Guadalajara has a storied past that blends indigenous and Spanish influences. Today, Guadalajara is recognised as the birthplace of mariachi music and tequila, icons of Mexican identity, and is a hub of innovation and industry.


Currency

The official currency in Mexico is the Mexican Peso (MXN). Most major credit cards are widely accepted, but it’s a good idea to carry some cash for smaller vendors, markets, and street food. ATMs are plentiful and offer a convenient way to withdraw pesos. As of now, 1 USD is approximately 17 MXN, though rates fluctuate, so check before your trip.


Electricity

Guadalajara operates on 127 volts, 60 Hz, with Type A and Type B plug sockets. If your devices have a different voltage or plug type, make sure to bring a compatible adapter or converter.


Visa Requirements

Many visitors to Mexico do not require a visa, including citizens of the US, Canada, the UK, the EU, and several other countries, for stays of up to 180 days. However, you’ll need a valid passport and a completed Forma Migratoria Múltiple (FMM), which can often be obtained on your flight or at your port of entry. Weather in February

February in Guadalajara is delightful, with mild and pleasant weather. Expect daytime temperatures to range between 24°C (75°F) and 28°C (82°F), while nights can be cooler, dropping to around 10°C (50°F). Rain is minimal during this time, pack light clothing for the day and a jacket or sweater for the evenings.
